    1. I found this quote when I was subbing the other day in the book Economicology by Peter Wege (he's kind of a big deal in Grand Rapids) :
My face is set, my gait is fast, my goal is Heaven, my road is narrow, my way is rough, my companions are few, my guide is reliable, my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, diluted, or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate... at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in a maze of mediocrity. I won't give up, shut up, let up, or slow up.

    Made my day.

    2. These people are brilliant. And I love their ideas, but I still feel like their needs to be more practical application. But I also think that all teachers should have to listen to these people on a regular basis in order to remember that there is more than one way to be brilliant, and that every child is capable of something great. On the other hand though, even if you can't see their individual genius, they still deserve love and respect as human beings.
I still want Ken Robinson to start an alternative school or a program or something so that I could see what his ideas on education look like in action, you know?

    3. Went to a different church this weekend. Turns out I am not great at meeting new people because I am not great at talking to people I don't know. I liked the sermon though, and I'm planning on going to the small group 20 somethings time with Heidi's fiance next week (I have class at that time this week). Oh, and speaking of Heidi she's going to be staff on LA Urban this summer. I told her to contact you if she has questions.

    4. I plan on writing something when midterms are over. I'm not sure what yet. I guess we'll see? Feel free to call me next week and bug me so that I have to stay accountable. It works for Heidi.
